Terms & Conditions
Service: Private sober coaching sessions designed to support clients who are seeking to achieve sobriety, strengthen early recovery, or explore an alcohol-free lifestyle.
1. Agreement to These Terms
By booking, purchasing, or participating in Sober Coach sessions, you agree to these Terms & Conditions. These terms apply to all coaching sessions, packages, resources, communications, and support provided by Sober Coach.
If you do not agree with these Terms & Conditions, please do not book or participate in the services.
2. Nature of the Service
Sober Coach provides professional sober coaching designed to support clients with practical, emotional, and lifestyle strategies for achieving sobriety or exploring an alcohol-free life.
The coaching sessions may include:
-
Exploring your relationship with alcohol or other addictive behaviours
-
Identifying triggers, patterns, and high-risk situations
-
Developing relapse-prevention strategies
-
Building healthier routines, boundaries, and accountability
-
Supporting motivation, confidence, and personal goals
-
Exploring what an alcohol-free lifestyle could look like in real life
-
Encouraging self-reflection, personal responsibility, and positive behaviour change
Sober coaching is a supportive and educational service. It is not medical treatment, psychological therapy, detoxification, crisis care, or a replacement for professional health advice.
Australian health-related terms commonly clarify that online or coaching-style information is not a substitute for medical advice, and NSW Health-style disclaimers recommend seeking help from a qualified health professional for health concerns.
3. Not Medical, Psychological, or Emergency Care
Sober Coach does not diagnose, treat, cure, or manage medical, psychiatric, or substance-use disorders.
You acknowledge that:
-
Sober coaching is not a substitute for a doctor, psychologist, psychiatrist, counsellor, detox facility, rehabilitation service, or emergency service.
-
If you are physically dependent on alcohol, drugs, or medication, you should seek medical advice before stopping or reducing use.
-
Alcohol withdrawal can be medically serious and may require supervised detox.
-
If you are experiencing a medical emergency, mental health crisis, risk of self-harm, risk of harming someone else, severe withdrawal symptoms, or acute distress, you must contact emergency services or an appropriate crisis service immediately.
In Australia, call 000 in an emergency.
4. Package Pricing
The current sober coaching package is:
7 private sober coaching sessions for AUD $1,000
This package is designed to provide focused support around achieving sobriety, strengthening motivation, identifying relapse risks, and exploring a sustainable alcohol-free lifestyle.
Unless otherwise agreed in writing, the package fee must be paid in full before the first session commences.
5. Session Format
Sessions may be delivered online via Zoom, phone, or another agreed platform.
Each session will generally focus on your current goals, challenges, progress, triggers, and practical next steps. The exact content of each session may vary depending on your needs, level of readiness, and personal circumstances.
Sober Coach may provide reflections, exercises, worksheets, accountability prompts, or suggested actions between sessions. You are responsible for deciding whether and how to apply these suggestions.
6. Client Responsibility
You understand that coaching requires honest participation, personal responsibility, and willingness to take action.
You are responsible for:
-
Attending sessions on time
-
Providing accurate and honest information
-
Letting the coach know if your circumstances change
-
Seeking medical or psychological support where needed
-
Completing agreed actions between sessions where appropriate
-
Making your own decisions about your health, sobriety, relationships, lifestyle, and recovery path
Sober Coach cannot guarantee sobriety, relapse prevention, or any specific personal outcome. Results depend on many factors, including your circumstances, willingness, health, support network, environment, and ongoing choices.
7. Suitability of Service
Sober Coach reserves the right to determine whether coaching is appropriate for a client.
Sober coaching may not be suitable if you require:
-
Medically supervised detox
-
Inpatient rehabilitation
-
Acute mental health support
-
Crisis intervention
-
Specialist trauma therapy
-
Psychiatric treatment
-
Court-ordered treatment or reporting
-
Complex case management beyond the scope of coaching
If Sober Coach believes your needs fall outside the scope of coaching, Angie may recommend that you seek support from a GP, psychologist, psychiatrist, detox service, rehabilitation facility, counsellor, or emergency service.
8. Cancellations and Rescheduling
Clients must provide at least 24 hours’ notice to cancel or reschedule a session.
If you provide less than 24 hours’ notice, the session may be counted as used and deducted from your 7-session package.
If you are late to a session, the session will still finish at the scheduled time unless otherwise agreed.
If Sober Coach needs to reschedule a session, reasonable notice will be provided and the session will be moved to a mutually suitable time.
9. Package Expiry
The 7-session package should be used within 12 weeks from the date of purchase unless otherwise agreed in writing.
This timeframe is designed to support momentum, accountability, and continuity in the sobriety process.
Unused sessions after the expiry period may be forfeited unless an extension has been agreed.
10. Refunds
Refunds are handled in accordance with Australian Consumer Law. Businesses cannot exclude consumer guarantees or use blanket “no refund” policies where consumer rights apply. The ACCC has specifically warned businesses against misleading refund, exchange, and return terms.
Because sober coaching involves reserved appointment time and personalised professional service:
-
Change-of-mind refunds are not generally offered once the package has commenced.
-
Sessions already delivered are non-refundable.
-
If you choose not to complete the package, any refund or credit will be assessed at Sober Coach’s discretion and in line with Australian Consumer Law.
-
If Sober Coach is unable to deliver the agreed service, you may be offered a reschedule, credit, partial refund, or refund depending on the circumstances.
Nothing in these Terms removes your rights under Australian Consumer Law.
11. Confidentiality
Sober Coach respects your privacy and confidentiality.
Information shared in sessions will be treated as confidential, except where disclosure is required or permitted by law, or where there is a serious concern for your safety or the safety of another person.
Confidentiality may be limited if:
-
There is a risk of serious harm to you or another person
-
There is suspected abuse, neglect, or risk to a child or vulnerable person
-
Records are required by law, subpoena, insurance, or legal process
-
You provide written consent for information to be shared
-
Disclosure is necessary to obtain emergency assistance
12. Privacy and Personal Information
Sober Coach may collect personal information such as your name, contact details, booking information, payment records, coaching notes, goals, and relevant background information.
This information is collected to provide coaching services, manage bookings, communicate with you, process payments, and maintain appropriate business records.
Your personal information will not be sold. Reasonable steps will be taken to protect your information from misuse, loss, unauthorised access, or disclosure.
13. Communication Between Sessions
Depending on the package or agreement, limited communication may occur between sessions by email, text, or other agreed channels.
Between-session communication is not crisis support, emergency care, or 24/7 monitoring.
Sober Coach may not be able to respond immediately. If you are in crisis or at risk, contact emergency services, a crisis line, your GP, or another appropriate health professional.
14. Behaviour and Safety
Sober Coach aims to provide a respectful, safe, and professional coaching environment.
The coach reserves the right to end or refuse a session if a client is abusive, threatening, intoxicated to the point that coaching cannot safely proceed, repeatedly misses sessions, behaves inappropriately, or requires a level of support beyond the scope of coaching.
In such cases, refunds will be assessed based on the circumstances and any applicable consumer law obligations.
15. Online Session Requirements
For online sessions, you are responsible for having:
-
A stable internet connection
-
A private and safe space to speak
-
A working device, microphone, and camera where needed
-
Any required Zoom or online meeting access
Sober Coach is not responsible for technical issues caused by your device, internet connection, software, or environment.
16. Intellectual Property
All materials provided by Sober Coach, including worksheets, exercises, written content, frameworks, session notes, resources, and digital materials, remain the intellectual property of Sober Coach unless otherwise stated.
You may use these materials for your own personal sobriety and self-development.

17. No Guarantees
Sober Coach is committed to providing high-quality professional support, but no guarantee is made that you will achieve sobriety, remain alcohol-free, avoid relapse, improve relationships, change behaviour, or achieve any particular outcome.
You acknowledge that sobriety and lifestyle change are personal processes and outcomes vary from person to person.
18. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Sober Coach is not liable for any loss, damage, injury, relapse, decision, consequence, or outcome arising from your participation in coaching, except where liability cannot legally be excluded.
You remain responsible for your own choices, actions, health decisions, and support network.
Nothing in these Terms excludes rights or remedies that cannot be excluded under Australian Consumer Law.
19. Third-Party Services and Referrals
Sober Coach may suggest books, apps, meetings, practitioners, health professionals, services, supplements, or other resources.
These suggestions are provided for general information only. Sober Coach is not responsible for the quality, suitability, conduct, advice, or outcomes of any third-party service or product.
You are responsible for making your own enquiries and seeking professional advice where appropriate.
20. Changes to Services or Terms
Sober Coach may update services, pricing, package inclusions, policies, or these Terms & Conditions from time to time.
The terms that apply to your package are the terms in place at the time of purchase, unless changes are required by law or agreed in writing.
